"World Famous" Donairs
Anyone that knows me knows i have kept this recipe close to me. It is not some crazy fancy or secretive recipe but it has been my prized possession ever since it was bestowed upon me from an old acquaintance. I have never wanted to share it but i figured it is about time to share it with the world! So … here you go world!
Prep Time: 20-25 minutes
Cook Time: 45-50 minutes
Serving Size: 4-7 Donairs
Sweet Sauce Ingredients
1 Can Condensed Milk
1/2 Cup White Sugar
1/4 Cup White Vinegar
1 Tsp Garlic Powder
Donair Meat Ingredients
1.5 lbs Ground Meat (50/50 Beef & Pork)
1.5 Tsp. Flour
3-4 Tsp. JamDinners Donair Seasoning
1 Tsp. Salt
1/2 Tsp. Pepper
Donair Ingredients
4-7 Pieces Naan Bread
1/2 Head of Iceberg Lettuce, chopped
1/2 White Onion, chopped
3-4 Roma Tomatoes, chopped
Pickled Jalapenos or Banana Peppers if desired
Directions
Combine all sweet sauce ingredients together, mix well and store in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours prior to eating. Remove from the fridge and allow to come to room temperature approx 30-40 minutes before eating.
Pre-heat oven to 350F. Combine all meat ingredients in a large bowl, mix well. Lightly spray a medium-large baking sheet and add the meat to the pan.
Spread and flatten the meat evenly across the whole pan getting it as flat as possible. Bake until fully cooked, approx 45-60 minutes.
Remove from oven, slightly warm the nann bread and then dress as desired. Add sriracha or even a garlic sauce and enjoy!
