Red Velvet Cinna Buns

I don’t know about you but we absolutely love Red Velvet desserts so when it came time to want to make v-day treats .. turning red velvet cupcakes into cinnabuns seemed like a no-brainer.

Cinnamon Buns Ingredients

  • 1 Package of Red Velvet Cake Mix

  • 2.5-3 Cups Flour

  • 1.25 Cups of Warm Water

  • 1 Package of Yeast

  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar

  • 1/4 Cup Melted Butter

  • 1 Tsp. JamDinners Pumpkin Spice

Icing Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Icing Sugar

  • 4-6 Tbsp. 1% Milk

  • 2-3 Tbsp. Butter, softened

  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract OR 1 Tsp. EVOO Vanilla Dark Balsamic Vinegar

Directions

  • Combine the cake mix with 1 cup of flour and the yeast in a stand mixer. Add in the water and mix well on medium speed. Add in the remaining flour 1/2 a cup at a time. Ensure the dough is fairly sticky.

  • Knead the dough using the stand mixer about 1-2 minutes. Grease a large bowl with a little oil then add the dough ball to it and cover with a damp towel and let sit at room temperature for about 2.5 hours.

  • After the dough has sat for 2-2.5 hours, pre-heat oven to 350F degrees. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface until the dough is evenly rolled and about 1cm in thickness.

  • In a medium bowl, combine the pumpkin spice, brown sugar and melted butter. Mix well.

  • Using a spatula, spread the brown sugar mixture overtop of the dough evenly. Once done, roll up the dough jelly style and cut into at least 10-12 portions.

  • Spray round baking tins and lay the cinnarolls in the pan, leaving about 1/2 -1 inch between rolls. you made meed multiple pie tins. Bake 15-20 minutes or until lightly brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.

  • While they are cooling, combine all the icing ingredients together using a hand mixer. Spread the mixture over the slightly cooled cinnabuns and enjoy!

MAKE IT EXTRA - Instead of using packaged red velvet cake mix, make the cake mix from scratch.
