Egg Nog French Toast

Each year I pull together Christmas recipes, it seems only fitting that I include an Egg Nog recipe. I am a huge fan of Egg Nog so you bet I always have some in the fridge each season. This Christmas seems OFF and I think that is obviously because of good ol’ COVID and usually I am a savory breakfast kind of person but I figured with a different/off year … why the heck not go for something sweet!

Ingredients

  • 6-8 Slices of Italian or Texas Thick Bread

  • 1/2 Cup Egg Nog

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1 Oz. Rum

  • 1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon

  • 1/2 Tsp. Nutmeg

  • Cooking Spray

Directions

  • In a square/flat casserole dish combine all ingredients except for the bread and whisk well.

  • Spray a medium pan with cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Dip the bread slices, one at a time into the egg mixture, ensuring all sides are coated but not TOO soaked in.

  • Lay in the pan and cook until the down side is browned. Flip and repeat for the 2nd side. Repeat for each slice of bread. You should be able to cook 2-3 at a time. Set aside or in a warm oven for keeping until the whole family can sit down and eat! Serve with butter and syrup.
