Dad's Wings Vol. 1 & 2

I love Chicken Wings. It is a real problem. Is there such thing as Chicken Wings Anonymous because I might actually need to go. My favorite go-to wings are Hot Wings with Ranch. I could eat them every day for lunch and dinner. Not breakfast though … that just isn’t right. If I only pick 1 flavor of wings it is always Hot Wings … but if we are going with full on wing night and I am picking various flavors … well the world is my Oyster.

Well if it isn’t a Wednesday special at a bar, wings can be expensive when eating out and my dad always loved to cook. He use to bake wings in the oven for our family of 5 and we would go crazy for them. They are nothing special but they are DELICIOUS. I continue to make the wings he use to make and I have incorporated a few different flavors of my own!

This recipe actually has 5 different flavors of wings but to cook them it is basically the same for all of them!

Serving Size: 2-4

Ingredients

  • 1 Pack of Split Chicken Wings

  • Hot Wings - Franks Hot Sauce to taste

  • Dill Pickle Wings - Crystals Can Co ‘Rilly Dilly’ Caesar Rimmer to taste

  • Seasoned Wings - Seasoning Salt to taste

  • Buffalo Ranch Wings - 1/2 Cup Ranch & 1/3 Cup Franks Hot Sauce

  • Buffalo Dry Rub Wings - JamDinners blend!

  • Cooking Spray

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 425F degrees. Line a pan with Tin Foil and spray with cooking spray. Lay out the chicken wings face DOWN. Apply the seasonings or sauce as desired (if you are doing Buffalo Ranch Wings DO NOT APPLY this until after the wings have cooked, you can apply regular salt and pepper before cooking for additional seasoning if you want). Only sprinkle on the current face up side - the wings will get flipped part way through cooking and you will apply more toppings.

  • Place the wings in the oven on the middle rack. Cook for 30 minutes then pull the wings out and flip around. Apply the seasoning/hot sauce as desired and let cook for another 30 minutes.

  • If you are doing to Buffalo Ranch wings - you can mix the ranch and hot sauce together in a medium sized bowl (big enough to toss the wings around in). Once the wings are done, place the unseasoned wings in the bowl with sauce and toss around.

  • Serve wings with ranch, bleu cheese dip ORRRR my Veggie Dip. Enjoy!

  • You can do the wings on the BBQ also, basically following the same flow but cooking directly on the BBQ not on a pan. Or … do what we have been doing and slow roll those babies on the smoker!
