Beer Bread

If you didn’t already know we LOVE beer in this house. We are huge into supporting local and supporting the local craft beer industry is high on that list. We have been using beer in a number of recipes lately and are loving ever bit of it! This Beer Bread using Boiling Oar Brewing Co’s beer turned out perfect! Also … as you would hope, the recipe is so easy!

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Flour

  • 1 Small Can of Beer (12oz) at room temperature

  • 2-3 Tbsp. White Sugar

  • 2 Tbsp. Butter or Margarine, melted (plus 1-2 Tsp. more for drizzling on top)

  • 1 Tbsp. Baking Powder

  • 1 Tsp. Salt

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375F degrees. Butter a regular sized loaf pan.

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Pour in beer and stir just to combine. Batter will be thick and won't have a totally smooth appearance.

  • Spoon batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out so it reaches all four corners. Drizzle the top with the melted butter.

  • Bake for 40-50 minutes, until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean or almost clean.

  • Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes then invert and allow to keep cooling on a cooling rack. Slice and serve with more butter and beer!
