Apple Brie Pork Burger
We always like to ensure we cover all our bases with burger week, always a fish burger and a veggie burger of sorts alongside the beef burgers so you know we had to put a pork one in the lineup too.
Apple Chutney Ingredients
2 Gala Apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
1/8 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp. fresh Orange Peel
1 Tsp. Ground Cinnamon
1-2 Tsp. Evoolution Black Garlic & Ginger Infused Olive Oil
1-2 Tsp. Evoolution Red Apple Dark Balsamic Vinegar
1 Tsp. Evoolution Mesquite Sea Salt
Burger Ingredients
2 Pork Chops
2 Buns of choice
Salt & Pepper to taste for the Pork Chops
1 Gala Apple, thinly sliced
Sliced Brie
Arugula or Spring Mix
Directions
Combine all chutney ingredients in a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat and simmer on low and covered for about 30-35 minutes.
Uncover and continue to simmer on low for about 10-12 minutes to get rid of all excess moisture. Remove from heat, set aside and allow to cool.
While the chutney is cooking, pre-heat the barbecue to 500F and season the pork chops with salt, pepper & garlic powder. Cook the chops on the BBQ to 160F, flipping half way through.
Once the chutney has cooled and the pork chops are almost cooked you can toast the buns and lay the slices of brie on the pork chops briefly on the BBQ so they begin to melt. Remove from the BBQ and then assembly as desired with the chutney, and arugula or spring mix.
Serve with a nice garden salad to compliment the ingredients.
