Tuna Steak Salad

This sounds so silly but I have always wanted to do a seared tuna salad but I have been always too intimidated to do so until i found some frozen “steaks” at Save On Foods and I figured why the heck not!

Tahini Dressing Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup Olive Oil

  • 1/4 Cup Tahini

  • 2-3 Tbsp. Lemon Juice, to taste

  • 2 Tsp. Dijon Mustard

  • 2 Tsp. Honey

  • Salt & Pepper to taste

  • 2 Tbsp. ice-cold water, more as needed

Salad Ingredients

  • 1 Tuna Steak, pre-sliced

  • 2-3 Tsp. Olive Oil

  • 1 Cup Cooked White Rice

  • 1/2 Cucumber, sliced

  • 1/2 Cup Carrots, shredded

  • 1/2 Cup Radishes. sliced

  • 1/2 Avocado, sliced

  • 1/2 Cup Green Onion, sliced

  • 1/2 Cup Edamame Beans

  • 2-3 Tsp. JamDinners Everything Seasoning

Directions

  • Combine all tahini ingredients (except the water) in a medium jar and whisk well. Add in the water a little at a time (you may not even need it all) ensuring the dressing remains creamy but not too thick. Add more salt, pepper & lemon juice as desired to balance the flavor.

  • Add olive oil to a medium pan and heat over medium heat. Season the tuna with the everything seasoning and then add the tuna to the pan and sear about 45-60 seconds on each side. Add all salad ingredients to a bowl then top with the steak, sprinkle with a little more of the everything seasoning and then drizzle with desired dressing.
