Peanut Butter Spider Cookies

Halloween is almost here and I love this holiday! Which is quite interesting because I am TERRIFIED of horror movies. Specifically paranormal/haunted stuff. I think because I have less control … where as if Michael Myers or the guy from SCREAM are in my house … at least I can try and fight them off you know? Anyways I still love Halloween! These cookies are perfect for children and adults!

Serving Size: 18-24 Cookies

Cookie Ingredients

  • 1.5 Cups Flour

  • 1/2 Cup Sugar + 1/4 Cup for rolling

  • 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter

  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar

  • 1/2 Cup Margarine

  • 1 Egg

  • 3/4 Tsp. Baking Soda

  • 1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder

Cookie Topping Ingredients

  • 1 Bag Mini Reese’s Cups

  • Candy Eyes

  • Black Icing

Directions

  • Pre-heat oven to 375F degrees. Combine sufar, brown sugar, peanut butter, margarine and egg in a large bowl and mix well using a hand mixer until fully blended.

  • Stir in the flour, baking soda & baking powder. Mix well again until a dough is created.

  • Roll the dough into 1-2 inch balls then roll them in the extra sugar. Lay them on a baking sheet with about 1-2 inch gaps between each cookie. Repeat for all remaining dough.

  • Bake 9-11 minutes or until the bottom and edges begin to slightly brown. Use your thumb and press down slightly in the center of each cookie. Allow to cool fully.

  • Once fully cooled, pipe a small icing dot in the center of each cookie then place a Reese’s cup in the center of each.

  • Using the same icing, add icing ‘legs’ to each cookie. 8 total so they are actually spiders.

  • Ice 2 small dots on the front of each Reese’s cup to place the candy eyes. Repeat for each cookie. Now enjoy!
