Mummy Stuffed Peppers

From an appearance standpoint these look like a cute treat for your kids .. but with the jalapeno in there, I don’t know that you really want your kids eating them or that they want to. But they do look cute don’t they?

This recipe has been created at least a handful of times by a handful of different people but this is our version and it is perfect for an adult Halloween party! Which falls on a Saturday this year BTW anddddddd supports our need to social distance and now share things like dips etc.

Ingredients

  • 10 Jalapenos, washed cut in 1/2 length wise and seeds removed

  • 1 Package of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

  • 6oz. Cream Cheese

  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Havarti Cheese

  • 1 Tsp. Pepper

  • 1 Tsp. Garlic Powder

  • 1/2 Tsp. Salt

  • 40 Candy Eyeballs

Directions

  • Pre-heat oven to 400F degrees.

  • Combine cheeses and seasonings together in a bowl and combine well.

  • Lay the halved jalapenos out and scoop a generous portion of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each jalapeno.

  • Roll out the crescent rolls and cut long strips (25+) of dough. Take a strip of dough and wrap it tight around the jalapeno halves. Leaving extra space near the top of the jalapeno for the eyes. You may need to use more than 1 strip per half to full cover the jalapeno.

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the dough becomes golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 8-10 minutes. Place the eyes on each half and then serve!
