Chili Dawgs

Father’s Day is coming up and your dad isn’t the fancy type or your plans with your dad include lunch not dinner … what do you do? We think these Chili DAWGS are the way to go! Simple (reasonably priced) and so much room for creativity and making them as wild as your dad wishes! We opt to use SAVE ON FOODS mild Italian sausages instead of just hot dogs and we go for a better quality bun, but you do you. Your dad loves your anyways!

Ingredients

  • 2 Mild Italian Sausages

  • 2 Portugese Buns

  • 1-2 Cups Chili (we use our homemade Chili but you can use canned stuff too)

  • 3/4 Cup Shredded Cheese of choice

  • 1/2 Cup White Onion , diced

  • Pickled Jalapeno slices (optional)

  • Bacon, chopped (optional)

Directions

  • Cook sausages on barbecue over medium/high heat until fully cooked. Remove from the bbq and place in each bun. Do not fully cut through the bun. You want to keep the top and bottom parts of the bun attached so they hold the ingredients together better.

  • Scoop desired amount of chili on top of sausage, top with all other desired ingredients and enjoy!
