Butter Tarts

Butter Tarts are one of my favorite desserts EVER! I have always found the idea of making them so intimidating … turns out, not that hard LOL!

Ingredients

  • 18 Tenderflake Tart Cups

  • 1/2 Cup Crumbled Pecans

  • 1/2 Cup Dried Raisins or Currants

  • 1/2-2/3 Cup Brown Sugar

  • 1/4 Cup Butter or Margarine

  • 1 Egg

  • 1/2 Tsp Vanilla

  • 1/4 Tsp. Salt

Directions

  • Pre-heat oven to 400F degrees. In a small pot, melt margarine or butter.

  • While that is melting, line mini muffin tins with the tart cups and evenly split the pecans and dried fruit between all 18 cups.

  • Remove the pot with melted butter from the heat and add the corn syrup, brown sugar, egg, vanilla and salt. Whisk together well.

  • Evenly pour the mixture into the tart cups over top of the pecans and dried fruit.

  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the mixture is brown and bubbling really well. Remove from oven, allow to cool then enjoy.

MAKE IT EASY - Leave the pecans and dried fruit out. Keep it simple.

MAKE IT EXTRA - Make the tart crust from scratch and really show off your skills.
