Butter Tarts
Butter Tarts are one of my favorite desserts EVER! I have always found the idea of making them so intimidating … turns out, not that hard LOL!
Ingredients
18 Tenderflake Tart Cups
1/2 Cup Crumbled Pecans
1/2 Cup Dried Raisins or Currants
1/2-2/3 Cup Brown Sugar
1/4 Cup Butter or Margarine
1 Egg
1/2 Tsp Vanilla
1/4 Tsp. Salt
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 400F degrees. In a small pot, melt margarine or butter.
While that is melting, line mini muffin tins with the tart cups and evenly split the pecans and dried fruit between all 18 cups.
Remove the pot with melted butter from the heat and add the corn syrup, brown sugar, egg, vanilla and salt. Whisk together well.
Evenly pour the mixture into the tart cups over top of the pecans and dried fruit.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the mixture is brown and bubbling really well. Remove from oven, allow to cool then enjoy.
MAKE IT EASY - Leave the pecans and dried fruit out. Keep it simple.
MAKE IT EXTRA - Make the tart crust from scratch and really show off your skills.
