Christmas Cookie Exchange Option 4: Shortbread Cookies

Short bread cookies are definitely a MUST at Christmas time and a great selection for your cookie exchange coming up. I opt to use colored sprinkles instead maraschino cherries but you do you.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Margarine, softened

  • 1 Cup Flour

  • 1/2 Cup Icing Sugar

  • 1/2 Cup Corn Starch

  • 1/4 Tsp. Salt

  • Green & Red Sprinkles (optional)

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 325F degrees. Beat margarine until light and fluffy, add icing sugar while beating.

  • Add the corn starch and continue beating. Add the flour and salt slowly and beat well. Roll into 1-2 inch balls and place on a baking sheet, leaving enough room between each. Press down lightly in the center of each with a fork and then lightly sprinkle the colored sprinkles on top.

  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, remove from oven and allow to cool before serving.
