Christmas Cookie Exchange Option 4: Shortbread Cookies
Short bread cookies are definitely a MUST at Christmas time and a great selection for your cookie exchange coming up. I opt to use colored sprinkles instead maraschino cherries but you do you.
Ingredients
1 Cup Margarine, softened
1 Cup Flour
1/2 Cup Icing Sugar
1/2 Cup Corn Starch
1/4 Tsp. Salt
Green & Red Sprinkles (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 325F degrees. Beat margarine until light and fluffy, add icing sugar while beating.
Add the corn starch and continue beating. Add the flour and salt slowly and beat well. Roll into 1-2 inch balls and place on a baking sheet, leaving enough room between each. Press down lightly in the center of each with a fork and then lightly sprinkle the colored sprinkles on top.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, remove from oven and allow to cool before serving.
