Salami Bagel Sammies

We took our easy homemade bagels and made them into delicious salami sandwiches .. if that isn’t a win, I don’t know what is?

Serving Size: 4 Bagels

Bagel Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Flour

  • 1 Cup Non-Fat Greek Yogurt

  • 1 Tsp. Salt

  • 1 Egg

  • Everything Seasoning (optional)

  • 2/3 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese (optional)

Sammie Ingredients

  • 20 slices of Genoa Salami

  • 4 Slices of Cheddar Cheese

  • 2 Pickles, sliced length wise

  • 4 Pieces of Romaine Lettuce, good sized

  • 12 Rings on Red Onion

  • 1 Roma Tomato, sliced

  • Mayo to taste

  • Mustard to taste

Bagel Directions

  • Pre-heat oven to 350F degrees.

  • Mix the flour, yogurt and salt together in a bowl. until crumbs are all blended into a a ball. Knead the ball for 5 minutes. Sprinkle flour onto a flat, dry surface and take the ball and divide into 4 equal portions and then roll out on the flour surface.

  • One at a time roll the dough into rope about the length of two hands side by side. Form a circle and connect the ends. Make sure to push the ends together well so they stick. Repeat for all portioned dough.

  • Take the egg and beat well in a bowl. Use a brush to eggwash all bagels then sprinkle everything seasoning on top or the shredded cheese. Bake for 30 minutes or until cooked through then broil for 1-2 minutes depending on the type of oven. Keep an eye on the bagels when broiling so as not to burn them. Remove from oven and let cool then serve.

Sammie Ingredients

  • Toast the bagels to desired golden brown color.

  • Spread mayo on the bottom part of the bagel. Layer the sammie with the cheese, pickles then onions on the bottom, then top with the salami.

  • Spread the dijon mustard on the top then add the lettuce and tomato. Put the two sides of the bagel together. Repeat for all bagels.


MAKE IT EASY - Opt to pre-buy bagels instead of making them from scratch.

MAKE IT EXTRA - Use a ground mustard and a garlic aioli instead of dijon mustard and mayo.

MAKE IT VEGETARIAN - Swap the salami for a vegetarian thinly slices meat product.
