Philly Cheese Grilled Cheese Sammies

The stampede food continues and what better meal then combining 2 GREAT sandwiches: Grilled Cheese and Philly Cheese steak? A drool-worthy combination if you ask me. Such a simple treat also.

Serving Size: 2 Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 4 Slices of Rye Bread

  • 1 Inside Round Steak, cut into strips

  • 1/2 White Onion

  • 1/2 Green Pepper

  • 4 Slices Havarti Cheese

  • 2 Tbsp. Margarine

  • 1 Tbsp. Vegetable Oil

  • 1 Tsp. Garlic Powder

  • 1 Tsp. Salt

  • 1 Tsp. Pepper

Directions

  • In a medium pan heat the oil and add the steak, onion, green pepper. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder then cook until beef is just cooked.

  • Remove contents from pan and set aside in a bowl.

  • Lay a piece of bread out, place a piece of cheese on top then scoop the Philly mixture, add the second piece of cheese and top with the second piece of bread. Butter the outside of the top piece of bread and lay top down in the frying pan.

  • Repeats for the second sandwich.

  • Press down slightly to keep contents together and cook until golden brown. While cooking butter the outside of the other piece of bread. Once desired coloring is reached, flip the sandwich carefully and repeat for the second side.
