Peppermint Kiss Sugar Cookies

What a great way to turn a simple cookie recipe into a holiday themed cookie recipe? The addition of 1 ingredient really transforms these cookies. They are so delicious I imagine you will have to make more than 1 batch because they will be gone so quickly!

Ingredients

  • 24 Peppermint Chocolate Kisses

  • 2 Cups Flour

  • 1 Cup Sugar + 1/4 Cup for rolling

  • 1/2 Cup Margarine

  • 1 Egg

  • 2 Tbsp. Milk

  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract

  • 1/3 Tsp. Baking Soda

  • 1/3 Tsp. Salt

Directions

  • Pre-heat oven to 350F degrees. Unwrap all of the peppermint kisses and set aside.

  • Using a stand mixer (I only say that because I have one now LOL) - a hand mixer will work as well. Cream together the margarine and 1 cup of sugar until soft then add in the egg and vanilla. Continue mixing.

  • In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients - flour baking soda and salt. Add this mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Continue mixing until fully combined.

  • Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray them roll out the cookie dough in to twenty-four 1 -2 inch balls. Roll the ball into the extra sugar. Lay out on the baking sheet.

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until bottoms are just a light brown. Remove from oven, allow to cool about 2-3 minutes then gently press a peppermint chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie. Let cool completely.
