Chicken w/ Onion Soup Mix
The Mr. has spoken to be numerous times about this magical recipe of Chicken with Onion Soup mix … To be honest I just kept brushing it off until finally I bought a package of the onion soup mix. Then it sat in the pantry for about 2 months and I finally decided we were going to make this magical dish he was talking about and he was going to teach me how he likes it. So I added it to the meal plan, the day arrives and I say ‘okay so how do we start?” and he goes … “What?” ….. Turns out he never made it before he just remembers enjoying it as a kid LOL. He just assumed I was going to create a recipe for him and it was going to be exactly as he remembered.
Ingredients
4 Chicken Thighs
2-3 Cups Mashed Potatoes
1 Package of Onion Soup Mix
2 Tbsp. Corn Starch
2-3 Tsp. JamDinners Signature Seasoning
1-2 Cups Sauteed Mushrooms & Onions (Optional)
Side of Green Beans (Optional)
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 400F degrees. Season chicken thighs with signature seasoning. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until full cooked.
While the chicken is cooking, prepare the onion soup mix as per packaging instructions BUT ONLY add 1/2 of the recommended water. This creates a sort of thicker gravy instead of a soup. Add the corn starch if needed too.
Remove fully cooked chicken from the oven. Plate with potatoes then top with sautéd vegetables and drizzle a healthy portion of onion soup mix over top the entire dish.
This may not be the recipe he remembers from growing up but it sure turned out delicious!
