Blue Cheese Beef Burger
Its Burger Week in our house which means it is one of the most UNHEALTHIEST weeks in the year (next to Christmas and Thanksgiving). We do a whole week of different burgers. We did it one year and then it became a tradition we just couldn’t stop. This year we added a Blue Cheese Burger to the mix and it was MY FAVORITE of the entire week. Not everyone is a fan of blue cheese and that is okay but to be honest … you are missing out. Blue cheese can be very intimidating but as long as you manage the quantity it brings so much flavor to the dish.
Serving Size: 4 Burgers
Ingredients
4 Sesame Seed Buns
1 Lb. Ground Beef
1 Egg
1/2 Cup Crumbled Blue Cheese
1/3 Cup Goldfish, crushed
2 Tsp. Margarine
1 Tsp. Salt
1 Tsp. Pepper
1 Tsp. Garlic Powder
Additional Burger Toppings
4 Burger Buns
3/4 Cup Garlic Aioli
Fresh Arugula
Sliced Red Onion
Sliced Avocado
Directions
Combine the salt, pepper, egg & goldfish cracker crumbs with the beef and mix well. Separate the meat out into 4 even sized patties and slightly flatten on a plate. Set aside. Sprinkle with a little extra salt, and pepper. Add the sprinkle of garlic powder as well to the top.
Heat up BBQ to 400F degrees. Once the BBQ is heated, add the patties and cook thoroughly to 160F degrees.
Lightly butter both insides of the buns and place on the top rack of the BBQ to toast.
Once patties are almost fully cooked, add blue cheese onto each and allow to melt slightly.
Remove buns, dress with desired toppings then add the beef patty and enjoy! Seriously the way the flavors from the garlic aioli and blue cheese melt together is amazing.
