7 Layer Dip

A good 7 Layer dip is not hard to find. In fact, it has to be one of the easiest things to find at the grocery store and is always a crowd favorite at any sort of gathering. You can sit here and say why would I bother making my own when I can just go grab one? You aren’t wrong but damn is it fun to make your own! When you make your own you can also control how much of each ingredient you use so if you aren’t the biggest fan or refried beans or guacamole, you can put less! I make refried beans from scratch but for this recipe I won’t make all of you do that!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 - 1 Cup Refried Beans

  • 1 Avocado, pitted and mashed with salt, pepper & lime juice

  • 2 oz Cream Cheese

  • 1/2 - 1 Cup Salsa

  • 1/2 - 1 Cup Shredded Havarti Cheese

  • 1/2 Tomato, chopped

  • Sliced Black Olives or Jalapenos *(Optional)*

Directions

  • In a glass dish lay down the first layer - refried beans and spread evenly across the bottom of the dish. Next layer is the guacamole, complete the same steps and spread evenly on top of the refried beans.

  • Repeat for all other layers in this order: cream cheese, salsa, shredded cheese, tomatoes then sliced olives or jalapenos.

  • Allow to sit in the fridge for minimum 30 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips.
